Ultrasound

ultrasound

In the therapy world, two types of ultrasound can be used:

1. A therapeutic ultrasound- this ultrasound is used to theoretically transfer sound wave into bodily tissues causing heat which improves circulation. In addition, it is purposed that the sound waves cause microcavitation of oxygen bubbles within a cell increasing cell metabolism. This effect is said to speed up the healing process.

2. A diagnostic ultrasound- Topflight therapy does not currently have a diagnostic ultrasound. We have future plans to purchase a diagnostic ultrasound to help in visualizing musculoskeletal tissue abnormalities and provide feedback to patients about muscle contraction.
